It is important to note that the question asks who is better. And through all of that she managed to keep the world balanced making her the better Avatar. Then she had to deal with losing the only spiritual help she had, after that she got paralyzed and completely hit rock bottom and with no help from the other avatars she found her self again. Korra had to defeat a master blood bender and have to deal with losing her bending. In the end the very definition of being an avatar is bringing balance to the world and even though Aang did bring balance by ending the 100 year war and starting Republic city he still fell short of korra.
AVATAR KORRA SERIES
Also the villains in both series were amazing but I think we got to see Korras character brought out more in a several villains aspect of the show. I think most of that is due to the short arcs in the Korra story compared to the long arcs in Avatar. She started out as a bratty, selfish teenage girl with romance problems and by the end turned into a selfless and extremely powerful Young women. Korra on the other hand had a much better story arc. Of course he grew up to be amazing man but im just talking about the confines of the show.

He started out as a very goofy and powerful kid and ended a very goofy and powerful preteen. Korras character arc was much better than Aangs and way more intriguing. Now the second question deals with Character and whos is better. I still agree that Aang is a very powerful Avatar but I think Korra can do much more than Aang making her able to beat him in a fight. I knew that would come back into the finale and was right when Korra blocked the Spirit weapon and even Kuvira realized Korra was way more powerful than her. Zaeer said in book 4 after Korra said her powers had limits but then Zaeer said "I think your power is limitless". Throughout the whole Korra series it was mostly about Korra finding herself and that journey concluded in book 4 with Korra after years and years of hardships can overcome and do anything. I read a lot of peoples answers and many think that Aang is more powerful than korra but I disagree. Who is more powerful/who can in in a fight. When you look at the question you can split it up into 2 questions. In his battle with ozai, he goes apeshit after playing defensive the entire fight. Korra in the avatar state can be beaten up terribly (shown in season 3 when she battled Zaaher.) Aang is basically unstoppable in the avatar state besides when Azula zapped him. Aang in the Avatar State is also less of a wimp.
AVATAR KORRA HOW TO
Bonus Points: Korra lost her bending but Aang gave it back and taught her how to give and take bending. Korra went in blindlessly and most of the time failed. Aang's spiritual connection was much stronger and he actually asked previous avatars for help. She struggled to enter the spirit world in season 1 as well. Korra lost her connection with her past lives and nearly failed to beat Vatuu if it wasn't for Jinora. Now, spiritually Aang was still stronger. She may have been a great bender with 3 natural elements, but Aang mastered every single one in a year and was a master airbender at the age of 12 (that's why he has his arrows) Korra also struggled to learn airbending. Aang is a much better avatar than Korra because if you break up the question it becomes two, Who is the best bender and who is the best with their spiritual connections? Korra was defeated so many times it's unbelievable she was the avatar.
